Journeyman Field Pro

Privacy Policy

Effective July 18, 2026
The short version: Journeyman Field Pro has no accounts and no logins. The calculators run entirely on your device. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is the text of a question you choose to type into Ask the Code, and we do not store it. We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.

Who we are

Journeyman Field Pro is developed and operated by Billy Jackson, doing business as Raging Rhino Group ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. It applies to the iOS application and to this website.

Information we do not collect

We want to be specific, because "we value your privacy" language tends to hide more than it explains. The app does not:

Calculators — fully offline

All 18 calculators (voltage drop, wire sizing, conduit fill, box fill, motor FLA, PoE budget, and the rest) run entirely on your device. The values you enter are never transmitted anywhere. They stay on your phone and are not readable by us. These features work with no network connection at all.

Ask the Code — what is transmitted

Ask the Code is the one feature that requires a network connection. When you submit a question, the following is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate an answer:

That is the entire payload. It carries no name, no device identifier, and no account, because the app has none. Your question is used solely to produce the answer that comes back to you.

We do not store your questions. Our server holds no database. The question passes through in memory to generate a response and is not written to disk, logged, retained, or used to train any model by us.

IP address and rate limiting

To prevent abuse of the AI service, our server enforces a daily request limit. This requires holding your IP address in server memory temporarily so requests can be counted. It is not written to a database, not linked to your questions, and not retained beyond the rate-limit window. Standard web server logs may record connection metadata for a short period as part of routine operation and security.

Service providers

Anthropic processes Ask the Code questions to generate answers. We access their Claude API as a commercial customer. Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by their own terms and privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We do not permit your questions to be used to train models.

Apple distributes the app and processes any purchases. We never receive your payment details. Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymous download and sales statistics that cannot identify you.

Children

The app is rated 4+ because it contains no objectionable content, but it is a professional tool intended for licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because the app has no accounts and collects no personal information from anyone, there is no children's data for us to hold.

Your rights

Rights to access, correct, or delete personal data (including under the GDPR and CCPA) depend on us holding personal data about you. We do not. There is no account to close and no profile to delete. If you believe we hold information about you, write to us and we will respond.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA, and we never have.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change — for example, if we add accounts or a subscription — we will update this page and revise the effective date above before the change takes effect.
